My theory about how DK possessed Meliodas.

I think Mel couldn’t beat the commandments (DK power) nor Mel emotions could beat DK. The two things (fight) is connected. Also DK planned this from the beginning, to take over Mel body and with that he regain his power and can leave purgatory. But for that he needed to beat Mel both physically and spiritually (Mel emotions) since he is stuck in purgatory, probably he has no physical body just spiritual, he wants to regain his old self, old power. And the only way were to do it is to Meliodas become DK by the commandments (DK power) and then with his commandments he could take over him, also at the same time he has to beat Mel emotions (spiritual​) and he could put Mel emotions into his Spiritual body and because of that he is able to get out from purgatory, why? Because if Meliodas emotions happened to win he would go straight back into his body (not became a physical body which would become Meliodas No.2 )but it was DK who won, so where would he go? To his own power what is his commandments which were in Meliodas body in the cocoon.
