You´re not wrong! both Natsu and Luffy battle IQ is insane! they might be dumb outside of battle but in battles they are locked in!
Plus Natsu even behaves like Luffy when being silly like in previous ep in the cave and stomping on the ground making both him Gray & Lucy fall down & excitedly waving his arms wanting to explore the cave

30:47 I think thats mainly because they are using different kinds of magic. Although they are both elemental magic, Natsu’s is dragon slayer magic whereas Gray’s and Leon’s is Maker Magic. So the whole “two hands is better than one” thing doesn’t apply here
